When I went to Cambodia to photograph the children in the villages along the Mekong, and the work of the NGO 'Toutes à l'école' and its founder, the journalist Tina Kieffer, to get little girls into school, I regretted not having organised an exhibition of these photos.
Of course, some of these images have been published in magazines such as Marie-Claire and Le Point, and have won prizes in New York and Italy, and have even been exhibited in some retrospectives of my work, but never has an exhibition made them its sole subject.
This will be done at the beginning of 2025 in Paris, with the support of the Cambodian Embassy and the Maison du Cambodge.
I had already met Mrs Sun Soveasna, Minister Counsellor, at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Paris, who gave me some very good advice.
And I had the pleasure of meeting Her Excellency Mrs UN Bophanna, Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary, and Permanent Delegate of the Kingdom of Cambodia to UNESCO, with whom we have planned a wonderful exhibition for the beginning of the year at the Maison du Cambodge, in the Cité Universitaire.
Thank you to her!
A place that will be celebrating its 100th anniversary for the occasion!
I'll have the pleasure of showing many of these moving photos and sharing my humanitarian and photodocumentary experience with you.
The evening of the vernissage will be a beautiful one, with a troupe of Khmer dancers, dressed in traditional costumes, delighting us with a moment of culture full of grace.
I look forward to seeing you there!
