It’s a great pleasure to be selected for the official selection of a documentary film festival for the first time!
The First-Time Filmmaker Sessions by THE LIFT-OFF GLOBAL NETWORK, UK, organised by the famous Pinewood Sudios, has selected ‘Children beyond the war’, which my son Arthur and I made in Moldova, about Ukrainian war orphans and Moldovan social orphans.
A serious subject, but one that enriched us as human beings and moved us enormously.
It doesn’t matter whether we win a prize or not; it’s already a victory to be in an official selection for our first documentary, despite the lack of technical and financial resources.
It’s great news to be able to give a voice to these children around the world!
And thanks again to Inesa Ciornii, without whom none of this would have been possible, and Martin Kunze of the NGO Jugend Eine Welt for his organisational skills and kindness on the ground!
