The majestic Notre-Dame cathedral, whose construction began in 1163...Before the fire.
The gargoyles that adorn the eaves of Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris date back to the Middle Ages. They date back to the Middle Ages, unlike the chimeras, which were added in the 19th century by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, but as in all Gothic buildings, where nothing is left to chance and each sculpture contains a hidden or esoteric meaning, the gargoyles were also given a role.Placed at the edge of the cathedral roofs and therefore in contact with the outside world, their symbolic mission is to remind us that good lies within the Church.
