Notre-Dame Cathedral...
Majestic, construction of which began in 1163...
I was born in Paris, and I love not only my city but this cathedral, which has stood the test of time.
View of the Quai de Montebello, in the 5th arrondissement. This quay honours Jean Lannes, Duke of Montebello (1769-1809), a general during the Revolution and the Empire, who was elevated to the rank of Marshal of the Empire. He was one of the best commanders Napoleon had: Napoleon said of him on St Helena: ‘Lannes, the bravest of all men, was certainly one of the men in the world on whom I could rely most. Lannes' spirit had grown to the level of his courage, he had become a giant.
